Two days in Hanoi

The first day: Same as One day in Hanoi
The second day:

  • 6:00 AM: Get up and go for a stroll in Hoan Kiem Lake. Witness or join with Hanoians (both the young and the old) who gather to do yoga or Tai chi, give massage to each other, and practice the aerobics with the music coming along from a little cassette.
  • 7:00 AM: Have breakfast nearby (a bowl of Guangzhou noodles in #43 Cau Go is worth a try) and then have some coffee by going up to Cafe Dinh at #13 Dinh Tien Hoang that is only 3 minutes far from the restaurant.
  • 8:00 AM: Start to go to Long Bien Bridge and go for a walk to the fishing village to immerse yourself in the peaceful country life of the Vietnamese there.
  • 9:20 AM: Take a taxi or have more than 30-minute-walk to Ba Dinh Square in Ba Dinh District and visit One Pillar Pagoda, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh Museum and his former residence if you are interested in.
  • 1:00 PM: Walk through Hung Vuong street and turn left to Nguyen Thai Hoc. Stop by #66 Nguyen Thai Hoc to Vietnam Fine Arts Museum.
  • 2:30 PM: Walk through Hoang Dieu, Tran Phu and go straight on Nguyen Tri Phuong street, then turn left to Imperial Citadel of Thang Long.
  • 3:45 PM: Move to Quan Thanh Temple and hang around the West Lake. There are multiple temples and pagodas in the area of West Lake. Check Tay Ho District for more information.
  • 6:00 PM: Have dinner with some Shrimp cakes made in West lake in Thanh Nien street.
  • 7:00 PM: Chill out around the West lake with your hair flying in a nice breeze and your mind feeling calm and free from stress. This place is where Vietnamese lovebirds often go on dates in the evening.
