Where to go in Phu Nhuan District, Saigon?

If you are in Phu Nhuan District and do not know where to drop by, just take a look at what I am going to suggest below.

Gia Dinh Park

Before 1975, this place was the first golf course ever of Saigon. However, shortly after that, Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee decided to transform the golf course into a park or to be exact, the biggest park of Saigon (with the total area is roughly 6 hectares.) It has almost everything you need: massive grass fields, giant trees, running paths for joggers, etc. Moreover, Gia Dinh Park has a giant playground for kids and a circus so getting your children here weekly (or daily if you have enough free time) is recommended. Also, along with Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, 23/9 Park, and Le Van Tam Park, this place organizes Spring Flower Festival every Tet Holiday. Don’t forget to check this out especially when you are in Saigon during Tet.

Opening Hours: 6 AM – 10 PM
Address: Hoang Minh Giam, ward 9, Phu Nhuan district, HCMC.

Da Minh – Ba Chuong Catholic Church

The first brick of Da Minh Church was laid down approximately fifty years ago, which shaped one of the best church ever in Saigon. The church has an extraordinary design, possessing many smooth curves which are less likely to be seen in western churches. The bell tower standing near the front gate is probably the most attractive point. Although there are many churches that share the same characteristic, local residents still like to call this place “Three Bells Church”. You should visit this place when you have a chance to visit Saigon, not only because of the magnificent church itself but also of the massive number of surrounding street food stalls.

Address: #190 Le Van Sy, ward 10, Phu Nhuan District, HCMC.

  2. Phu Nhuan district seems worth exploring. I remember reading a post about Nhieu Loc – Thi Nghe Canal’s miraculous clean-up. I was curious to see how it looked and it is now indeed beautiful.
