  1. Cá ngừ đại dương (Ocean Tuna)

Every year Phu Yen catches nearly 2000 tons of fishes. The fish meat is freshly red and is sliced into small slice. People can taste sliced ocean tuna meat with mustard or soya bean. At some local restaurants, visitors may also taste ocean tuna dishes with fish sauce, which is made from qualified fish and salt.

Sò huyết sào rau răm (Blood Cockle)

Phu Yen-ers usually stir and fry blood cockle with Vietnamese mint; this perfect combination makes the taste of the dish becomes surprisingly delicious for ones who have never taste it before. 2. Ốc (Snail)

A special type of snail in Phu Yen is “Jumping Snail” in O Loan Lagoon. Local fishermen keep “jumping snail” on rafts and serve them to customers according to their requirements. The dish is at best when “jumping snail” are steamed with lemongrass and ginger. Vegetables and knotweed are also served with. The taste of fresh vegetables and “jumping snail” are delicious and hard to refuse.

1. Banh beo (Water fern cake)

Banh beo is a thin rice cake which is topped with minced scrimps, green bean and crispy fried shallots. Eaters enjoy eating “banh beo” with sour and spicy fish sauce; this creates an amazing flavor in your mouth. This is not wrapped in leaves like other traditional cakes; instead, it is served in small bowls which fit exactly the size of “banh beo.”

2. Pho hai san (Seafood noodle soup)

  1. I’m not so into seafood, so I highly recommend you try Banh beo (Water fern cake). And believe me, you won’t try just one bowl, you’ll be craving for more. I used to eat 20 bowls once, and I’m still not satisfied.
    Besides, other dishes look just as nice.
