1. By bus

Most major cities such as Hồ Chí Minh City or Hà Nội will have regular bus lines from large operators. For smaller cities, there might also be minibus trips. Assuming you are departing from Hồ Chí Minh City, Thành Bưởi, Phương Trang and Mai Linh are major operators all offering daily bus services to and from Cần Thơ, and a typical trip is around 3 hours. Go to the Western Bus Station (Bến Xe Miền Tây) and look for the offices of Thành Bưởi, Phương Trang or Mai Linh. Alternatively, get to the main offices and buy a ticket, from which point a shuttle bus will take you to Bến Xe Miền Đông. You can also book a ticket over the phone, like many locals do, though the line operators’ English can be a little bit hard to comprehend. Do bring some headphones and a soft blanket, as Vietnamese buses are often chilly and noisy.

  1. Thanks for those useful information! I usually go to Can Tho by bus and car. It is uneasy for me because I get carsick all the time. Next time I will try going by plane.

  2. One of my university friends invited me to go to her hometown in Can Tho and I agreed. I would consider to go there by Thành Bưởi (Thanh Buoi) bus service because of the good quality and the low price. Thanks for your sharing!

  3. I haven’t travelled to Can Tho before but I think I would choose to go by bus. It’s convenient and cheaper than other vehicles. i would love to travel to Can Tho in the near future!
