By Bus
There are several buses departing throughout the day in Northern cities, so it is easy to get a bus journey to Dien Bien. If you start from a big city like Hanoi, there will be up to three bus stations to choose: My Dinh, Giap Bat, and Nuoc Ngam. My Dinh is highly recommended for providing high-quality services and some modern-looking sleeping buses. Please note that your trip to Dien Bien will last approximately 12 hours and cost 300 000VND, so make sure that you bring headphones and a mini cushion to get a physical comfort while sleeping. The timetable is also printed on your ticket, which might be helpful for you to plan the route.

By Air
In fact, your trip can be less rough if you travel by air. Flights to Dien Bien are offered daily in Hanoi, only by Vietnam Airlines. You can buy the ticket directly from the airport or the hotel that you stay, but if you want to stay economical, please go online and book from Vietnam Airlines website. You may have to book in advance to avoid the flight’s being full. The flight costs you around 600 000VND – 800 000VND and lasts for an hour.
