Ninh Hoa Fermented Pork Roll (Nem nướng Ninh Hòa)

Served in local restaurants, Nem nướng Ninh Hòa is one of the most delicious dishes in Nha Trang. You will be served with platters of grilled pork meat, lettuce leaves, rice paper, fresh herbs, chillies, rice vermicelli and garlic and then you make your own wrap and dip the roll into the sweet-spicy fish sauce.

Beef Steak (Bò Né)

Bò Né is a beefsteak breakfast served with a dollop of pate, eggs, bread and chili sauce in a hot plate. It is often accompanied with a mix of salad, tomato, cucumber, onion and vinegar. You will enjoy it by dipping the beef in a mix of lime, salt, and pepper sauce and using the baguette to polish off the remaining egg yolk and pate from the hot plate.

Jellyfish noodle soup (Bún cá sứa)

Your trip to Nha Trang won’t be complete if you don’t have this kind of noodle soup. Dip the fish or jellyfish into a special fish dipping sauce to create a taste sensation not usually found in the country. Another variation is bún chả sứa, which  comprises of rice vermicelli, jellyfish, and steamed sailfish fillet in a sweet fish broth.

Bánh cuốn thịt nướng

This spring roll usually contains minced pork meat, ear mushroom, and onions. It still comes with the prerequisite greens, pickled daikon and carrots along with the smattering of herbs inside a rice wrapper. The ingredients are loosely wrapped in a steamed rice flour crepe.

Rice Cake with Quail Eggs (Bánh căn)

Found all over Nha Trang, these rice cakes are freshly prepared in circular pans over a coal brazier, and are sold in pairs due to their rather small size. A dipping sauce is made from fish sauce, spices, scallions, green papaya and a side of meatballs and fried pork belly pieces can be thrown in.

Road

The National Highway 1A and the railway from North to South run through Khanh Hoa Province, linking it with the other provinces in the North and South. The National Highway 26 links Khanh Hoa to some provinces in the Central Highland. Nha Trang is 105km from Phan Rang, 190km from Buon Ma Thuot, 205km from Da Lat, 238km from Quy Nhon, 441km from Ho Chi Minh City, and 1,278km from Hanoi.

Airlines

Nha Trang Airport is 5km from the center of the city. Vietnam Airlines offers daily connections with Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, and four connections a week with Da Nang. Cam Ranh Airport is 35km south of Nha Trang has flights from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang to there.

Train

Regular connections between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City all stop in Nha Trang, daily train between Ho Chi Minh City and Nha Trang.

Hòn Yến

Chùa Long Sơn
